Best way to move west?

Here is the plan: I am planning to move, yes, to move, to
Vancouver from Toronto. But the dilemma is that I have a
few things I want to take with me. What is the best way to
transporting them across the county? Although I have a
driving license I don't have a car in Toronto. Is it
better to buy a $800 car that will just make it from T.O.
to Van or to rent one? Will the cost be the same? Any
alternative ideas to solve my little problem here? Cheers!

It is a long haul, a breakdown would cost you lots, I'd say
a rental'd be your best bet. There are always folks looking
for transportation to Vancouver from TO so maybe you could
shift drive and share gas costs with someone else.
You can alway have your stuff shipped but I imagine it migh
be best to do the rental.
