It all depends what you wish to accomplish. We are going to do the Rockies driving from Vancouver through the Rockies and back to Seattle, we have allocated 2 weeks to do this, we are flying to Anchorage and training it up to spend 4 nights in Denali all up we will be in Alaska for a week and then we are flying home via New York and will spend a week there. It would be nice to have a week more to spend in Alaska and perhaps 3 or 4 more days in Canada, but time forbids it. So we worked out what we wanted to see most of all and went from there. Good Luck.
If you have the option of 4 weeks take it, I am sure you will have a great time.

You wil have lots of time. The drive to Vancouver from
Seattle is short (4hrs)- flying would be a waste of $$. You
cuould spend a week in each city. (assuming you are *flying*
to Anchorage).
Have fun!
I would drive or take the bus from Seattle to Vancouver it's
only 3-4 hrs, but I would spend some time in and around B.C.
not just Vancouver, it would be shame for you to travel all
of the way out here and not be able to see some of the
beauty, if out this way one should definately take in the
sights of the Rockies, You can get a return ticket from
Vancouver to Calgary(Home of the rockies) for about $160.00
cdn and it would be well worth the money. If the rockies are
a bit to far for you to travel to then I would suggest
Whistler which is not far from Vancouver at all, if at all
possible try not to limit your touring to only Vancouver
because that would be a grave mistake. There is more to B.C.
than just Vancouver.
Happy trails
May want to drive down to Whitehorse then fly to Ottawa then
from there cross over seas to UK.
