Key Largo, Maine and Mammoth Lakes areas

Anyone know of any good hostels in Key Largo and Key West?
I'm finding it especially hard to find details of any cheap
accomodation in Key Largo.
Also, what about cheap accomodation and cool stuff to do in
Maine? I was in New Zealand last summer and had a real blast
whitewater rafting there and would like to do it again.
Anyone know of good companies and nearby accomodation in
central Maine (Moosehead Lake region?)? What about other
similar adrenaline rush sports?
Finally, I'm going to be driving this summer from San Fran
to Las Vegas but don't know of any places to stay between
Yosemite and Las vegas. Anyone know of anywhere good? I was
thinking of probably Mammoth Lakes area.
Thanks for any help!!

in Key West. It is okay, not the best, but it is
    inexpensive for Key West.

Don't know of any Hostels in Key Largo, but there are hotels
    ranging from @ $38 - $60 available. Don't know that you'll
find better than an average of $50 or so. Try the Sunset
Cove or Hungry Pelican around mile marker 100. There are
various campsites which charge around $18 - $25, but
remember that bugs can be hellish at times...

There are no hostels on Key Largo. There is a new one in
Florida City (20 SW 2nd Avenue), the Everglades
International Hostel, located on the mainland just before
you get onto the infamous 18-mile stretch leading to the
    keys. Price $12 & up. See http://hostels.com/us.fl.ot.html
    for information.
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park on Key Largo offers
    camping for tents/RVers. Call 305 451-1202 for
    reservations/info.
There are hundreds of motels throughout the keys, from
scuzzy to spiffy, wide range of prices. $30 would be low.
I found living on a sailboat in Key West to be the best
economical alternative and that's what I'm doing at the
    moment.
In Maine, you might want to check out whitewater rafting on
the Pennobscot (sp?) river...did this some years back, and
there was talk about damming the river for power, don't know
what ever became of that. Definitely an adrenaline rush,
    and a soaking.
