A friend and I are taking a road trip from New York City to
Los Angeles for about 2 weeks in June. I'm not sure
whether we should take the northern route or southern
route. Any information about which routes are more
interesting?

The north is more interesting if you like nature, once you
get to the mountains. Yellowstone and Glacier Parks are
phenomenal, and you can then cut down to Salt Lake and over
to Reno and Tahoe, catching Yosemite and Sequoia on the way
to LA.

The south has more cultural interest, especially if you're
into music, and more especially if you like blues, jazz, or
(choke) country. Memphis, New Orleans, Nashville, Austin,
all have distinctive styles. There are also the desert
landscapes of New Mexico and Arizona, and the Grand Canyon.
And of course Vegas. But it will be hotter than hell.
