Hi! I have been told that there is a public bus that
departs from Cairo to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem 4 times per
week.
Does anyone have any information about this bus system's
arrival/departure schedules and other general information,
or who I can contact?

    in march.
As far as I know it leaves every day at 5 AM from Sheraton.
If you buy a return ticket, you have to make the reservaition of the returning trip in Israel. We did it in Jerusalem at Mazada Tours, and they are real dirty robbers. They made us pay the departure tax fro Izrael (32 USD), which is almost OK (at the border it's 30USD), and an additional 6USD saying that it was for the entry tax to Egypt and they shawn us a blue label (with the writing "Mazada Tours") as a certificate. Of course we knew that they were lying but we couldn't do anything else.
At the border we had to pay the real entry tax to Egypt (7EP, cca 2USD). If anyone knows any other agency in Jerusalem for buses to Cairo, please advertise it here and AVOID ANY CONTACT WITH MAZADA TOURS!

hi, i was on this bus a couple of weeks ago, so here goes:
leaves cairo sheraton each morning on 5:30 (be earlier!)
and on sunday, tuesday and thrusday there are overnight
buses too, which are faster, although you WILL be delayed
    in Rafach border either way...
one way is actually only 40$ when ticket is bought in
israel - who said 45? check if you weren't cheated on.
two ways is only 60$, so it's worth it!
    have fun!
