We are planning / thinking about travelling to Israel in the
year 2000, but have heard that many, many, many people are
doing likewise because the year 2000 is the 2000th
anniversary of the birth of Christ. How packed with people
will it be. How much will accomadation prices be elevated?
Will everything cost more? Or have I been fed vicious
rumours??

Who says "the year 2000 is the 2000th anniversary of the
birth of Christ"?
I am going to be in Israel for the Millenium (December to
January)and I have the same questions. I'll pass on any
information that I find on to you if you do the same for
me. My friends and family are worried about my 'Doomsday
Holiday' and they are starting to make me nervous. Like
you, I want to know what I am getting into as far as
accomodation, costs and messianic cultists are
concerned.
Hey guys,
We too are planning a January trip to Israle. Will watch
your post with interest. Appreciate any info.

My advice to all of you planning to come over to Israel in
the year 2000 is this: Don't even try to find a cheep hotel
during these days. try not to stay in the major cities for
they will be packed with people from all over the world.
There is an alternative: you can stay in one of the many
Kibbutzim for a very cheep cost,or no cost at all(some
Kibbutzim need working hands).
If you insist on staying in a city, I recommand on the
southern cities motels and youth hostels,in
Beer-sheva,Dimona enc.
Enjoy your visit.
So, I guess there'll be a few of us in Israel over Christmas
and New Year this year... What a suprise... I am also
looking fro info on the same topics, and will post them here
as soon as I can. Hope you do the same!
