Has anyone taken young children to Tioman Island? We are
looking for reasonable accomodation, somewhere between a hut
and a resort. Also, what is the best mode of transportation
to reach the island from Singapo

  1. Ferry Added by: Ivy
[Timestamp: Sat 3 April, 19:32 Tasmanian Standard Time]

The usual mode is to take an express(aircon) bus from S'pore
to Mersing and from there, catch the boat across to Tioman.
It may be a better alternative for you to take the ferry
from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in S'pore to Tioman.
The ferry leaves at 8.30am and the trip takes approx 4 hrs.
1-way fares are S$90 per adult, S$58 per child(3-12 yrs) and
    S$12 per infant(below 3 yrs).
2-way fare are S$148 to 168 per adult, S$93 per child and
    S$18 per infant

  2. why Tioman? Added by: tiziana

I was in Tioman two years ago. Lots of cheap places to stay
but the standard is low. In addition, Tioman was not that
    paradise that I was expecting...
If possible, try to go to Perenthian Island (off the north-
eastern coast of Malaysia) Coral Bay Resort. The huts are
very nice, reasonble clean and the water is really clear
    and full of fishes!
    Have fun
