Planning short visit to Tuscany, MAR/APR 99 timeframe for
my family of five (children 9, 10, 15). Any lodging
suggestions on villas or hotels? How about must-see sites
or dining?
Thanks... R. P .Wright

We recently returned with our 4 children from Italy.Florence was crowded and a nightmare for accomodation so we hired a Fiat punto( Tiny , no radio but cheap) and headed up past Lucca and started in search of the "Agriturisimos" (sic) These are old farm houses or cabins on working farms rentable by day , or week.
very affordable and clean.
We stayed up in Apuan region in Castelnouvo in De garfagnana(again sic).
It was short distances between lotsof 1000 year old villages etc, mountain walks , markets, sloping hills where kids can run all day and fill up on good Italian food all night .
We plan to go with our kids this summer and so far have been
quite pleased with www.rentvillas.com very good pictures,
desccriptions, and 800 number. When you get back could you
give me some advice.
Your trip sounds great. We will be taking four kids
(17,17,14,12) to Hungary this summer and I would like to
see some of Italy on a sidetrip. Please let me know about
how your trip went. Thanks, in advance, and I wish you a
great trip.
