The evening bird

The bird is calling
someone here tonight
The fading sun is falling
Left is the creeping fright
Do you fear the fox so crafty
Or the crow so naughty?
Did they catch your children small
Or did you trick them after all?

So glad you haven't left. Like the poem. As I was making dinner tonight I looked out the kitchen window and my family became alarmed at seeing a robin with a broken leg, flopping around in a rainstorm. The kids ran out to rescue him but he was quite capable of flight. In some ways relieved, in someways very worried. The angst of small children and animals. The youngst said, Mom he tricked us, but he's not OK. Good evening traveller!

To ZOG: Yes we celebrated the 17th of May (our Liberation
Day) in the finest weather you can imagine. We had 10
guests on our terrace with "roemmegroet", "fenalaar" and
our domestic beer. From the terreace we have a view to the
fjord, the islands around Bergen and the North Sea. My
country has celebrated the Liberation Day since about 1835.
To Mad Potter: Thank you for your encouraging message and
for your story about the robin. You seem to be surrounded -
and fascinated - by nature. Also in my country the nature is
near and overwhelming. Our best national songs and poems are
    inspired by nature. Traveller
