  1. Tibet to Lhasa: Yes Added by: Andy (ishtarlee@aol.com)

It has generally been possible to travel overland from
Tibet to Nepal. Back in the end of 1997 I did it. I have
not heard that this route has been closed. However, the
Chinese Government has a tendency to close travel routes
    without much notice.
In Lhasa, you can inquire into hiring a vehicle to take
you to the border, or you can take a bus there, which is
cheaper. Back when I was in Lhasa, a private bus went once
or twice a week, leaving from the Banok Shal hotel. You
could inquire about the bus at the restaurant at the Banok
    Shal.
