I just heard that chinese now make it difficult to get Tibet visa in Chengdu due to the 50th anniversary of the Republic and...10th anniversary of Tien An Men.
I am going in Tibet in 10 days and I wouldn't like to be stucked in Chengdu. Does anybody have fresh informations on this matter?
Thank you
France

    It sucks but it's true.
Cost is high and options limited.
This is definitely not the best time to visit Tibet, althiugh I'm going to try on Tuesday with a flight.
Apparently once in Tibet you can be held to ransom by tour companies as the need to be on a tour is strictly enforced. Some of the tiur companies are no longer offering trips - waiting for the hassled to die down.
Things might change in 10 days though???
