Relocating to St. Martin/Sint Maarten

We are a couple (Canadian citizens by birth) both
approaching 50 and "starting over" in terms of personal
lives. We are considering relocating and taking our capital
to build a business, which business would in fact employ a
number of locals. We have extensive managerial experience
in the hospitality industry, legal services (paralegals) and
related business holdings. Following extensive research on
St. Martins/Sint Maarten we realized that this was probably
ideal for us as we both have French as a second language and
come from a bi-lingual country/culture.
Could anyone provide some suggestions for the best sources
information for business immigration and ultimate
eligibility for citizenship? Complete contact information
including web-sites and/or e-mail addresses would be most
appreciated. Obviously issues such as permits, licensing
and regulation requirements, business and personal taxation
details, medical and educational facilities, etc. are all of
interest. Comments about making such a change would also be
welcomed.
We are planning a trip in August or September '99' and would
enjoy meeting anyone who has provided assistance in this
regard.
Warmest regards to all of you.
Jim and Georgia
