Hey Diago,
Way down in the postings, you mention that you got a ticket
to Cuba from Montreal. I would name my first born after you
if I could get some more details. I really like the CO$T,
its right in my budget.
Thanks,
PIPO

I got the ticket from SunHolidays (although the name is in
French in Quebec - "Vacances Soleil", or something), based
in Quebec and Toronto. Check out their website:
http://www.sunholidays.ca/ You can find the number for the
Toronto office there. If you prefer Quebec (which is closer
for me), you can call them @ 888-878-6764. I understand
that the prices are around the same price from Toronto. My
ticket was actually $499 (CDN$) - but with the conversion
rate it only costs $250 (US$). As for getting to Montreal,
the plane tickets are kind of expensive right now ($350+) -
I guess because of the summer travelers. However, the train
and bus are VERY cheap ($100-$150). Good luck!
Hey man,
Super big thanks. If and when I ever have children, I
promise that your name wont be forgoten. I will call the
agency later today.
Muchas Gracias,
PIPO
.....much gusto! Let us know how everything works out.

P.S. In all honesty, someone else referred me to
SunHolidays further down the tree. Much thanks!
i made that suggestion to diago lower down; glad it worked. correction, though: the usd/cad exchange rate is about 1.46 these days (not 2 to 1 heaven forbid) so 500cad is about 340usd but it can come even cheaper depending on dates & promotions.
Hey Diago,
If your still hanging around, I need more info. I checked
out that site and found that the longest trip available is
two weeks. I wanted to stay for two months. I know you are
not a travel agent, but if you have any more info about whom
to contact I sure would appreciate it.
PIPO
Mikey, you are still around! Sorry, but I couldn't remember
your 'handle' in order to give you the proper credit.
Everyone.......a round of applause for Mikey!!!!! See what
your good deeds have done!

OK, Pipo........did you give them a call? They should be
able to give you a ticket for two months. I stayed for
three months, although I traveled through Bogota, and there
was no problem buying the ticket. I suspect they show
prices for up to two months only because few people actually
stay longer. Give them a call, I can't imagine why they
wouldn't be able to sell you a two-month ticket. Keep me
posted.
.......the price of my ticket was actually $399 CDN$.
Thanks Mikey! That's why my ticket costed around $250. I
think when I was writing, I was just thinking about the $555
that Pipo mentioned.
If you can travel from Toronto call Sunstop Holidays at 1
877 777 5444 or 416 255 5555 or email pharma@yesic.com ask
for Dil who can get you a good price and more than 2 weeks.
Dil may be able to book you through Montreal also but that
is beyond my experience.
First of all another "thank you, DIAGO!" You informed us
about some changes in U.S. restrictions on travel to Cuba. I
am one of the first to benefit from that.
I got a good deal on my ticket to Cuba: it is 236 US
dollars. I am going on the charter from Miami, because
thanks to our government, we can go for academic-research
reasons to Cuba on a general license (the same way that all
the Cuban-Americans go to visit their relatives). I already
requested a visa, and will enjoy my vacation. I will stop by
U.S. interest section on Malec≤n and will say "hi" to
everybody there! A trip without worries! Long live freedom!
I hope this will be the first step toward a total
elimination of the embargo.
