I was wondering if anyone knows if there are cyber cafes in
Merida, Mexico. Never been to Mexico, so I dont know what
they have to offer. And if there is one, or a few of them,
list location, or where they are next too, and maybe the
name if posible. Thanks

http://www.netcafeguide.com lists several netcafes in Merida,
including Cofynet and Cybernet. You will probably want to
access this information yourself, for addresses, directions,
rates, etc. I have not personally used a netcafe in Merida.
    Hope this helps.

In March, we found that public access internet stations
seemed all over Playa del Carmen. Rates were about one peso
(10 cents US) a minute. I would think Merida will be
    similar.

Funny, I spotted your post whilst browsing the thorn tree
in Merida about 4 days ago. Whilst not exactly a cybercafe,
more a cyber cell, it had the advantage of being cheap (15
peso / 30min, 25 peso / hr. As far as I could see they only
had one PC, but stayed open well into the evening and where
friendly and helpful. Just a word of advice, the software
is set up for Spanish language, so ensure you either speak
enough of the lingo, or know the icons from experience. it
was IE4 I think. The place to go is the fax station in the
cinema/mall behind the Cathedral. you will find online
access in some other traveller places, playa del carmen for
instance is significantly more expensive than this.
    Good luck,
    Graham Reeder
