Panama

Hello,
I'm flying into San Jose early June for a 3 weeks holiday.
Understood from various messages down this line that
Bocas del Toro is worthwhile visiting. Also San Blas
seems to be a must. Could somebody tell me if it's not
to much of a hassle to travel from one to the other.
Any direct ferry-boats?
I'm planning to do this in the first week and then back to
CR. Basicly I go there for the diving as it seems more
affordable there as the dollar is getting more and more
expensive to buy. From San Jose to the border by bus
seems easy but then?
There also seems to be a festival at Isla Grande at the
24th of June. Anybody any experience there.
Await yrs,
Thanks,
Ton

  1. Bocas del Toro Added by: Tom Waring (tomwaring@yahoo.com)

You definitely don't want to miss Bocas del Toro. Very
    reasonable, laid back and safe.
To get there from San Jose, take the 10:00 am Panandine bus
to the Panamanina side of the border. The bus actually
goes on to Aldmirante, Panama, but if you stay on it,
you'll miss the last (6:00 pm) boat to Bocas. So take a
US$15 cab ride from the border to Aldmirante, then a US$3
    boat ride to Bocas.
We stayed at the Hotel Las Brisas, and really enjoyed it.
A little plain Jane, but it's deck is out over the water.
    Have a great trip.

    Hoi Ton,
Ik ben het helemaal met het eerdere commentaar eens. Veel plezier in Bocas! Heb je m'n andere mailtjes nog ontvangen? S.v.p. reactie, je hebt m'n e-mail adres.
    Groeten, Gertjan.
