Hi all
I will leave sydney pretty soon for darwin via Melbourne
Adelaide and perth. Except the Great Ocean road, Flinders
ranges and Grampians, I'm wondering which others places
worth to stop. So what do you think about ?
- Wilson's Promontory Nat Park
- Ballarat
- Mootwingee and Mungo Nat Park ( near Broken hill and
Mildura )
- great australian bight :
Does it worth to stop for 1 day for someone travelling by
bus ? Any quite cheap flight ... ?
* Wayward between Melb and adelaide : great ? price ?
accomodation included ?
Thanks in advance
NB: I would be interested in renting a car in Melb and may
be Adelaide to avoid "organised trips". But as I travel by
my own it's almost impossible. Any travellers in the same
situation ... contact me !
( I should be in Melb around the 9th, in Adelaide around the
18th )

Wilson's Promontory National Park is my favorite place.
Mountainous coastal scenery toward the south, flat plains
full of wildlife in the north; miles of empty, windswept
beaches and beautiful sheltered coves. Can't get enough of
the Prom. Unfortunately it's slowly being taken over by
those with more interest in money than nature but there's
still enough space there for everyone to find something
great.
.
As for Ballarat, it's a very small city (about 70,000
people) full of monuments, museums, memorials, cafes and
historic buildings. Has a similar climate to Canberra -
I've even heard Canadians complain that it's freezing
there.
I live just near the Great Ocean Road, and it well worth a
visit. Glad you are going to see it.. BUT you really should
go down to "the Prom". My fave place in Victoria. Good
beaches, mountains and great hikes and walks. The Prom is a
popular place and you need to book to get into the park, so
book in early if you are going in peak season.
