WARNING TO ALL BACKPACKERS COMING TO SYDNEY!
DO NOT, REPEAT **NOT**, LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN **ANY** CAR
THAT IS PARKED NEAR **ANY** BACKPACKER HOSTEL!
ESPECIALLY DON'T LEAVE A BACKPACK VISIBLE!
This is unfortunately a continuing problem in the inner city
of Sydney, PARTICULARLY around the Darlinghurst & Kings
Cross area...
Many backpackers head to The Cross on their first visit to
Sydney. The street scum who hang around The 'Cross have
known for years that backpackers are easy targets for quick
cash and pawnable valuables. It's also known to everybody
that many backpackers come to The Cross to buy/sell cars.
Theft from cars in the inner city backpacker hostel
districts has always been, and continues to be, a BIG
PROBLEM! If a backpack is visible inside the car, chances
are the car WILL be broken into - you may find you stuff a
few days later, minus passport, money, etc, but it will be
strewn all along the gutter of some scummy Kings Cross back
alley.
HOW MANY TIMES do I have to hear tourists and backpackers in
Sydney recite the same old sob-story over and over, I've
heard it so many times now!!! It is the easiest and
commonest way for backpackers to get ripped off in Sydney.
SO WISEN UP!
BE CAREFUL!
DON'T BE DUMB!
TAKE ALL YOUR STUFF OUT OF THE CAR!
DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE IN ANYBODY'S CAR!
