Just out of interest, has anyone flown Air Zimbabwe from
London to Harare? Due to lack of flights left I've bought a
ticket on this flight, it cost the same as KLM and was more
expensive than BA.
Is it a good airline? Or have I bought a ticket for 'a wing
and a prayer'?

I don't know about the longhaul flights, but I flew
with air Zimbabwe from Vic Falls to Harare. The plane I
checked in for had a problem so they had to fly an other one
in from Harare to pick us up, and on this new plane, the
seat i was checked in for did not exist. Other than that the
flight was fine. Did you check SA airlines? - They were the
cheapest I found and were great (though I had to change
planes in Zurich). Enjoy.

I've flown London - Harare with Air Zim quite a few times
and had very few problems. The staff are excellent and very
friendly. The biggest drawback can be when El Presidente
decides the plane is commandeered for one of his wifes
shopping trips. Had far more problems on internal flights.
The biggest advantage with Air Zim is that you can connect
straight onto their internal flights when you land.
Good luck. Dave.
Air Zim staff is great, but cancelations are a problem.
Check out deals on Luftansa connecting in Franfurt. There
are also quite a few cargo flights to Harare that sell
passenger seats. The best thing to do would be to call one
and they could tell you who to call. Have an absolute
blast, but becareful in the Mbare market.
I haven┤t had a long trip on Zim Air but it was just like any other flight, just be careful wich Air Malawi, they are chaotic, lost my luggage for a week and nobody felt responsible in any way.
last year were all fine. The warning about Mugabe's wife
applies on internal flights - didn't happen to us.
