  4. I would ..... Added by: mark (markthom@idirect.com)
[Timestamp: Thu 21 Jan, 22:42 Tasmanian Standard Time]

    I would take $1500 and buy a kayak,then I would spend $1000
on the air fare to Ethiopia. From there I would arrange for
a store of food and medical supplies to delivered to remote
tribe areas.I would hire a couple people who have knowledge
in building shelter and digging wells. The remaining amount
of money would be spent on tools to help the village turn
the dry soil to a fertile crop growing area. The remaining
money would be spent on a school.

  5. ??? Added by: Claudia
[Timestamp: Fri 22 Jan, 0:11 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I would go back to OZ and visit places I haven't seen yet,
move one to Indonesia, have a stop over in Thailand, on to
Vietnam, Nepal and India. If I would still have money left
over I would go to Israel as well. :-)

  6. can I have some? Added by: dave
[Timestamp: Fri 22 Jan, 12:05 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I'm not greedy but if you gave me $2,000 I could travel quite a bit with that. I'd go to Egypt and a few Middle East countries.
With 20,000 though, I would tour Northern Africa to the Middle East and onto India and Asia. From there down to NZ and Aussie Land. Would also go to Antarctica.
I would go on jungle treks, sailing adventures, safaris and any other adventure treks that met my fancy.
My advise to you: seek out the far-and-away places and have a great time!

  7. endangered Added by: 20,000
[Timestamp: Sun 24 Jan, 1:01 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I would seek gorillas in Africe (Uganda), chimps as well.
Stay in some of those luxury tented camps where they even
wash your clothes! just for a few nights! Then fly to
Brazil, see Iguazzu Falls and fly to Cuiba or Campo Grande
and stay at a lodge in the Pantanal, then fly to
Ecuador and more jungle adventures and remote Indian tribes.
If I had any money left over, I'd fly to Galapogus Islands
and spend a week or so on a boat cruise of the islands.
    DREAM ON......

  8. My choices... Added by: Morris Minor
[Timestamp: Tue 26 Jan, 11:55 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Three weeks in NZ. Purchase vehicle in Australia. Drive in Oz for six weeks. Ship across to SEA Mainland, then China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India working my way clockwise. Avoiding turbulent areas of the Middle East, hang a left into Egypt and a large loop thru Africa. Kenya, Zimbabwe, SA, Ghana, Nigeria and up into Morocco.
Across the Strait of Gibraltar thru Europe and into the U.K. where I would sell the vehicle, (same side driving as Australia) before returning to the States.
    What a trip!!

    ROATAN ISLAND, HONDURAS.
    .
Excellent Scuba Diving... Beautiful weather & Incredibly cheap costs of living, while still having modern ammenities easily accesable.
    .
You could buy a kayak, scuba gear and a decent laptop... hook yourself up to Hondutel and spend your days in the water and your evenings surfin the net.
    .
    $20 000
(You'd live like a King and have a few bucks left over.)

Travel from Australia to Wales, hang out there, through
Scotland, England, Ireland, then over the channel and do
Europe in style (people always say to leave Europe until
you can do it properly) - Switzerland, France, Italy,
Germany, Austria, Denmark, Holland, Czech, Russia, Poland,
Finland, Norway, down to Turkey, middle East (again 'coz I
love it) through to Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Israel, Egypt
(Sinai for weeks on end), through India, Pakistan, Sri
Lanka, Nepal, China, Japan and all those cool Pacific
islands like Western Samoa and Fiji. Back to Australia to
Perth to visit my buddies, Tassie and home tp mummie in
    Melbourne.

  16. What a dream! Added by: Travelbug
[Timestamp: Fri 5 Feb, 16:08 Tasmanian Standard Time]

First: invest the money, travel on interest (it doesn't have
to cost a lot to travel; then you can stretch the year out
to... whatever). Start in England/Ireland/Europe. Move on
th Africa (Egypt, on to some safaris, etc.) I'd go to the
Seychelles (great scuba diving, I hear). Head up thru the
Middle East, Turkey, on to India. Trekking in the
    Himalayas. Into Asia, Singapore, Phillipines, Indonesia;
diving in Truk Lagoon & Palau & Fiji. On to N.Z. Could I
get to Easter Island? All over Australia. Back to the U.S.
& Canada. If I thought about it, I could probably think of
lots more places to visit: via bicycle, canoe, with
backpack. The sky would be the linit!!

  17. Anywhere expensive Added by: Masha
[Timestamp: Fri 5 Feb, 18:49 Tasmanian Standard Time]

If I had that much money and only a year (there's a time
limit, right?) I'd go to all those places I want to go to,
but it's too expensive: Scandinavia and Western Europe (in
style, of course), remote places like Tibet and North
Western China, select places in North America (depending on
where you're coming from, of course), NZ/Oz... save cheaper
places for when money is a tougher issue.

  18. Well.... Added by: Jun-Lei
[Timestamp: Fri 5 Feb, 19:01 Tasmanian Standard Time]

    Hmm,
first to Italy, that's a must
    then to Holland,
    and next to Spain,
then to Argentina, (and maybe other parts of Latin America)
    over to Sweden,
fly across to Africa, (for the wildlife)
    and to China, (for scenery)
    then go to New Zealand,
plus a trip to Germany & Flanders (in Belgium)
    then back to Italy.
But that would really be dreaming, huh? ;)

Fly from Sydney, Australia to Beijing and transfer a few days later to Ulan Batoor in Mongolia. Eventually make my way somehow to The Republic of Tuva and listen to some
throat singing. Fly back to Beijing and somehow end up in Madagascar.

Go to Siberia and have a hot cup of tea with my girl
friend. Then fly to Switzerland and check out the alps. To
Paris and Rome. Then to Las Vegas.
Back to home probably with a baby.

  24. follow your instinct! Added by: olga
[Timestamp: Sat 6 Feb, 1:34 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I think that traveling is part of life and I can't wait to be able to travel only when I raise a big ammount for around the world trip. I just want to travel every year and when I do there's always some extra money for it.
Anyway, now that you have 20,000 I recommend:
    1 month tanzania/zanzibar
    1 month ethiopia
    1 month pakistan
    3 months in india/nepal/thibet
    2 months in indonesia
    1 month japan
    1 month australia
1 month in peru & equador
    1 month mexico
and, at the end -concerning it's june-, an extra month in remote greek islands...!

  28. High in the sky Added by: Rowan
[Timestamp: Sat 6 Feb, 3:05 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I would spend as much time as possible in Northern Pakistan,
probably exploring the Hunza valley or trekking through the
Karakorams. Alternatively, I'd fly to Cape Town and book a
flying lesson in the last remaining English Electric
Lightning Jet with a company that is based there. After
flying at twice the speed of sound over the Ocean, doing
aerobatics (and probably being sick a lot) I'd come down
totally happy. Either way I'd use the money to do something
high up and amazing in the mountains or high up and very
    fast with aeroplanes.

  29. Papua New Guinea Added by: Tom
[Timestamp: Sat 6 Feb, 3:38 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I'd spend a good while shooting the breeze in PNG - the
place where Coca-Cola is still to shit scared to properly
shove its blood-red lgo on every T-shirt in the place.

  30. I'd learn...... Added by: Mary5oo
[Timestamp: Sat 6 Feb, 3:49 Tasmanian Standard Time]

If I had 20,000 I would buy everything neccessary for a
hiking expedition in the Amazon. I would hang out in the
forest with the remains of the indigenous peoples.
I would then move onto Africa, where I would go to
Dijbouti, I think that's how you spell it. Anyway, once up
there, I would study how the earth is evolving on Arfica's
    great rift.

...I'd pay off the trip I've just booked to South Africa,
Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Oz, New Zealand, Indo,
Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal and
India. Then I'd use the money I already have to travel from
    Alaska to Patagonia.....

  33. Paradise Islands Hopping Added by: Cookie
[Timestamp: Mon 1 March, 1:48 Tasmanian Standard Time]

If I have that kind of money and that kind of time then I
would go to search all those paradise islands, say from
Mauritius, Seychelles, Maldives, Fiji, Hawaii, Malaysia's
Tiamon Island, Thailand's some exotic islands, Bali and end
    up with a Carribean island...
    Can I come with you?
