Tibetan monks pose for the camera during a break in teaching at Sera Monastery. A week-long series of teachings is held at the monastery annually, attended by monks and lay people from all over Lhasa. Founded in 1419, Sera became a monastic university city housing over 5000 monks. Now only about 100 monks live there.
