A young girl carrying a conical basket, or doko, walks through a wheat field near the small village of Sibaghat, in the Helambu district north-east of Kathmandu. Her basket is supported from her forehead by a head strap, or naamlo. Because of the rugged terrain, goods are transported in this way all over Nepal by porters whose loads can weigh over 40 kg.
