Growing up in Pakistan, the Bahamas and the USA may have
given Tony his taste for travel but it's more likely that the Asia
overland trip he and his wife, Maureen, made in 1972
provided the inspiration. That trans-Asia expedition led to the
creation of Lonely Planet Publications and sparked Tony's first
interest in Cycle rickshaws. Twenty-five years of Asia travel and
many rickshaw rides later, Tony, an ex-engineer, returned to
record these fascinating glimpses of life in Asia.

There are two satisfactory explanations of why Richard has
become a traveling photographer: his great-grandmother had a
wanderlust, and his first photo was a travel photograph taken
en route from England to Australia at the age of 10. Although
Melbourne based, Richard traveles regulary, photographing
people and places for clients and his stock library. His work is
widely exhibited and published and has been included in over
80 editions of Lonely Planet titles. Richard is currently
working with Lonely Planet to set up an image library on the
web. He has been riding and chasing rickshaws for 12 years.
