David McClymont was born in a small fishing town on the west coast of Scotland. While studying graphic design in Glasgow, he fell in league with a gangly misfit and his university dropout friends. Together they founded Scotland's now-legendary independent music label, Postcard Records. In 1984 he accidentally boarded an Air India flight to Australia, where he has pretty much been ever since. He is married, lives in Melbourne, and is currently working on his first novel and a collection of poems and short stories.
