I got back on the
trusty steed to ride through the open frost plains of northern Kosciuzko.
I was kept awake by the nightime disturbances of wild dogs and pigs -
it's incredible how secure you feel behind 1mm of tent nylon! I did the
traverse on foot through the Budawangs - a mecca for Australian walkers.
I wandered through conglomerate cliffs and pinnacles set among thick forest,
often in mist - Shrouded God Mountain, Monolith Valley, The Castle...
I had a final goal, but the beauty of this journey was that so many stages
were classic mountain trips in their own right.
