How To Register Fern

Fern uses the same registration code as Templeton. Registering for Fern or Templeton allows use of both: Two for the cost of one!

3. There are three (3) ways to register Fern

  1. Register a single machine. To find this machine code, run the unregistered Templeton, or use the "reginfo" program. It will display the machine code. The machine code looks like something like "2-G92AR87-E0". (On Sun Microsystem workstations, then machine code looks like one long hexidecimal number.) Note: the machine code is only displayed when running an unregistered version of Templeton interactively.
  2. Register a specific IP address. Please include the IP address in standard dot notation (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) with your registration fee. Reserved IP addresses, such as 127.0.0.1 and those mentioned in RFC 1597, will not be registered. If you are uncertain, please send e-mail to templeton@bmtmicro.com.
  3. Register an entire subnet. Pricing varies. Send e-mail to templeton@bmtmicro.com for more information. Be sure to include your subnet IP address(s) and netmask(s). We regret that we cannot register domain names.

2. There are two (2) places to send your registration fee.
