The 8Legs Web Studio includes a number of components built into "Component" view. You can add your own components to "Component" view, so that 8Legs is customized to your work environment.
There are presently four types of components you can add to "Component" view: folders, HTML Snippets, Images, and HTML Snippets.
To add an HTML Snippet component to your "Component" view, do the following:
1. Click the name of a "folder" in the "Component" view.
2. Click the "Components" menu on the 8Legs window, and then the "New" menu.
3. Click the "HTML Snippet" item to add an HTML Snippet to your "Component" view. 8Legs displays the following window:
The "Properties" list displays the name and value of all properties associated with an HTML Snippet.
The "Value" field enables you to enter or modify a property value.
This field provides a short description of the selected property in the "Properties" list.
The "Show All" button enables you to toggle the list of "Properties" between only those that are required, and all properties associated with an HTML Snippet.
The "HTML Text" tab enables you to specify your HTML Snippet.
4. Select the "Component Name" item in the "Properties" list, and type a name in the "Value" field. Notice how the letters you type are also displayed in the Value column of the "Properties" list.
5. Click the "HTML Text" tab to specify your HTML snippet. 8Legs displays the following window:
6. Now type some text to associate with your snippet.
7. Click the "OK" button.
Your new HTML Snippet is added to the bottom of the folder you selected in step 1 above. You can now drag this new item into your Web pages!
