General Material Shader
The general material shader is a toolbox that extends the general effects of the softimage shader. The shader expand the cability of refraction and reflection with filter, noise and reduction parameters. The shader also supports translucency.

Filter
The filter makes it possible to throw away or reduce unwanted light-intencities in the reflection or the refraction.
Noise Parameter
The noise-parameter makes it possible to add noise to the reflection and refraction.

Reduction Factors
The reduction factors makes it possible to reduce the reflection and  refraction when the highlight gets brighter or the incidentangle to the camera gets bigger.
Translucency
This makes it possible for the illuminaiton of the backside of the object to pass through to the frontside. (This is what happens when the outside of a lambshade is illuminated from a lightbulp on the inside)
