Novell Help Librarian Data File Version 1.00 COPYRIGHT (c) 1985 by Novell, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Main Menu Help 1 of 4 You can select an option by highlighting it and pressing . The options are explained below. Other screens explain the VOLINFO display. CHANGE SERVER: Lets you view the volume information on any server you can gain access to on an internetwork of servers. NEXT & PREVIOUS PAGE: Lets you view more information for other volumes, if there are more than six on the file server. VOLINFO can display information for up to six volumes at once. UPDATE INTERVAL: Lets you change how often VOLINFO checks volume statistics. About VOLINFO Help 2 of 4 Total & Free: "KiloBytes" - the total volume capacity and the ammount of free or unused disk space on the volume. "Directories" - the number of directory entries that are allocated for the volume, and the number that are unused. A directory entry is used for each file, subdirectory, and trustee list on the volume. Up & Down Arrows: When the value of "KiloBytes" or "Directories" changes from the last time VOLINFO checked volume statistics, an arrow appears to reflect the change. About VOLINFO Help 3 of 4 Blinking Numbers: The values displayed under the "Free" column blink if they have gone too low. "KiloBytes" - will blink if Free KiloBytes is <= to whichever of the following two is lower: 1. 10% of Total KiloBytes 2. 1 MegaByte "Directories" - will blink if Free Directories <= 20 Directories Removable Volumes: If a volume mounted onto the network is removable, an "[R]" appears next to the volume name. The volume name will disappear and then re-appear as the volume is mounted and dismounted. About VOLINFO Help 4 of 4 Display Format: Volinfo automatically displays the volume information in megabyte format if any of the volumes on the server is greater than one gigabyte. One megabyte is equal to 1024 kilobytes. Changing Format: The F2 function key toggles the display between the kilobyte format and the megabyte format. If a number is too large to fit in the format displayed a right arrow appears at the end of the number, and the most significant numbers are displayed. Update Interval Help 1 of 1 You can change how frequently VOLINFO reports network volume statistics. The default interval is every 5 seconds. Short intervals increase the work load on the network for the file server to service. Longer intervals are not as accurate. Change Password Help 1 of 1 Your password has expired and must be changed. However, your login was successful because you were allowed a grace login. Usually the supervisor limits the number of grace logins. Future login attempts may be denied if you do not change your password. Enter the new password you want to assign to the account that you just logged in to; then press . Retype the password you just entered. This checks the spelling of the new password, since it is not displayed on the screen. The password you entered has an illegal character in it.
