Are Mobile Air Conditioners suitable for your application?

Before studying our price list and placing your order, it would be prudent to read the following and make sure Mobile Air Conditioners are suitable for your application.

Mobile Air Conditioners are available in two styles, and both ideally need to be sited adjacent to a window that preferably opens at around hip height.

The most popular type for small areas is the monobloc self contained system which is supplied with a flexible exhaust air hose for heat dissipation (along the lines of a tumble dryer). Ideally, this hose requires venting to outside, but if you are in a room where this isn't possible, it may be acceptable to vent into a passage or perhaps a suspended ceiling, although this is often not as workable as it sounds.

For larger areas there is the split system portable which dissipates its heat through an outdoor condenser section connected via small flexible refrigerant pipes. Being as these interconnecting pipes are considerably thinner than an air hose, the window can be virtually shut, and this obviously makes the air conditioner more effective.

Selecting the correct model

To make a noticeable difference to the temperature in your room, you should make sure the air conditioning is not undersized. The minimum cooling duty can be calculated by multiplying the room's cubic area by .04. Please see the following selection example:-

Room Size:- 5mtrs x 6mtrs x 2.5mtrs = 75 cubic metres.
Calculation:- 75 x .04 = estimated minimum cooling requirement of 3kW.

Other sources of heat such as sun shining through south or west facing windows, and/or electrical equipment will further increase heat in a room. In these circumstances be careful to select a more powerful system to guarantee a desirable cooling effect.

KMC9
Regardless of a reasonably powerful performance, the KMC9 is the most compact mobile air conditioner we have ever seen. It will be particularly desirable in small rooms where space is at a premium.

PM38CM
The PM38CM differs from all the other mobiles in our range because it can be supplied with a 2 pipe condenser air kit. This allows OUTDOOR AIR to be passed over the condenser coil (as opposed to a proportion of the indoor air) which results in a noticeable increase in "Room Air Conditioning Effect".
