Avoiding the Cowboys

 

When thinking about replacing your windows make sure you use a company that is a member of the industrys leading trade association the Glass and Glazing Federation.

 

When you choose a GGF Member, you can be assured that they;

 

  1. Will comply with the new Building Regulations and ensure you get the appropriate certificate via the Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme (FENSA)
  2. Will have been in business for at least three years.
  3. Have all been vetted to ensure they provide a quality service, the vetting procedure includes taking up references, looking at their accounts and site visits.
  4. Work to the Federations Code of Good Practice and technical guidelines

 In addition the GGF will provide you with:

 

  1. A free conciliation service should you and a Member company not see eye-to-eye over work carried out.
  2. The GGF has a deposit indemnity scheme which safeguards deposits up to 3,000 or 25% of the contract price, whichever is the lower.
  3. A Customer Charter.

Look for the Double Logo

 

Before you sign your contract check that the Company is both a GGF Member and FENSA Registered look for the Double Logo.
