Most central vacuums, utilise similar rigid PVC ducting and fittings for the network of pipes that connect from the inlet valves to the power unit, and as this part of the system is hidden behind walls or in floor voids it is vital that this is of first quality material. However not all central vacuum power units are the same and a variety of different materials and filtration systems are used.

As the heart of the Hayden SuperSystem, SuperVac provides sustained cleaning power, easy maintenance, and many years of reliable performance. SuperVacs are engineered in four models for homes ranging from compact to estate size.

SuperVac is the Hayden Central Vacuum power unit. Usually located in the utility room or garage, the SuperVac contains a cyclonic separator cone and a cartridge filter which separates dirt from air with maximum efficiency. The heavy-duty bypass motor is completely self contained in the top section of the SuperVac. Special bypass design totally seals out dust. No lubrication is required.

Dependent upon an inconsistent mechanical weighting system to return bag to its optimum position after each use.
Cleaning performance diminishes rapidly as bag becomes clogged with dirt. "Self-cleaning" bag needs to be cleaned and replaced.

For smaller homes, apartments and flats Drainvac produce the AE1500F unit. This unit is only just 24" high and 12" diameter and can be fitted in the utility room or any convenient cupboard.  For ease of emptying in confined spaces it uses a washable foam filter and disposable paper bag with a capacity of 17 litres it will still only need emptying every few months.  The small size does not mean small power as the motor generates an air flow of 54 ltrs per second and a water lift of 105 inches.  It is the quietest unit available (60db) and can be used for retro fitting in existing houses.

Drainvac also produce the only central vacuum units capable of handling wet and dry pick up. Suitable for both domestic and commercial use.

Drainvac built-in vacuum systems are specifically designed to vacuum both liquids and solids.  Constructed from 5 / 16" (8mm) thick polyethylene, they are shock and corrosion proof and their rust-proof components require very minimal maintenance.

The installation of a Drainvac built-in is as simple as any other built-in, whether it's in new or existing homes. We use the same P.V.C. pipe commonly used in the industry.
