Construction Chemicals
6.4.3 CA3200 General Purpose
Construction Adhesive

6.4.3.3 INSTALLATION DATA
Basic Use
CA3200 bonds to most common building materials including: wood, plaster, concrete and masonry. It also bonds well to aluminum, galvanized and cold-rolled steel.

CA3200 can be used to install prefinished paneling, drywall, core base, tileboard, trim and acoustical panels, corkboard and foamboard.

Shelf Life
CA3200 has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture when stored at temperatures from 40°F to 90°F. Expiration date is stamped into each tube.
Limitations
Hilti CA3200 is not recommended for subfloor applications.
6.4.3.4 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Place adhesive cartridge into standard one quart dispenser, then cut the tip of the cartridge nozzle at a slant to the desired bead diameter. Puncture inner seal with nail or wire and apply adhesive in a continuous bead to furring strips or studs and top and bottom plates. Material to be adhered should be partially nailed or braced to aid alignment during installation. For laminating, use a zig zag pattern.

When used for installing paneling, all panels should be measured and prefit, and cutouts for switches and outlets completed before applying adhesive.

To speed bond development, materials should be pressed into position, then removed for one minute and repressed. Apply only as much CA3200 as can be covered in 15 minutes. For best results, store at room temperature and use entire contents of tube once it has been opened.

Surface Preparation
All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from all contaminants such as oil and grease.
For Bonding Foam Products--Foam Installations:
If adhering directly to wall, grind off excessive mortar and other high areas from wall surface. For polystyrene foam, apply a maximum 1/4" bead of adhesive. For urethane foam, apply a maximum 3/8" bead. Press foam panel firmly against adhesive to make transfer, then partially pull out panel for two to three minutes to release solvents which can weaken or etch certain foams by continual contact. Gap should not exceed 1/16" after repressing panel in place.

When bonding polystyrene foam, surface temperatures should not exceed 90°F. Excessive adhesive thickness may cause significant etching of foamboard.

Cleaning
Tools and excess adhesive should be cleaned with mineral spirits.
