EPO
EPO was born in Tokyo in 1960. She is a singer and songwriter. Her voice is her instrument, and she collaborates with a wide variety of contemporary musicians. At the same time, she is always mindful of the origins of song, and performs in a street minstrel style. Her first album, Downtown, was released in 1980. She released 17 albums before leaving for the U.K. to participate in the 1989 Edinburgh Festival. She signed with Virgin Records in 1990 and released the album Fire & Snow in 1991. In 1992 she signed with Toshiba TM Factory. In 1994 she performed in the musical Fantasia with Singapore artist Dick Lee. She also toured Central Asia with jazz musician Akira Sakata. In 1995 she went on a solo tour of six Latin American countries.
