Optical Submarine Cable Network from Japan
KDD provides the following international circuits dedicatedly used for
THE INTERNET 1996 WORLD EXPOSITION jointly with overseas telecom carriers.

- Japan(KDD) - U.S.A.(MCI) : 45M bit/s via TPC-5CN
- Japan(KDD) - Taiwan(ITA) : 1.5M bit/s via APC
- Japan(KDD) - Korea(KT) : 45M bit/s via H-J-K
TPC-5CN is an optical submarine cable network linking Japan, Guam, Hawaii, U.S.A. Mainland, utilizing optical amplifier system newly developed by KDD and AT&T. The transmission capacity per fiber is 5 Giga bit/s. The 25,000km loop network of TPC-5CN will be completed at the end of 1996.
APC is an optical submarine cable linking Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore. The transmission capacity per fiber is 560 Mega bit/s and the total length is 7,500km.
H-J-K is an optical submarine cable linking Hong Kong, Japan, Korea. The transmission capacity per fiber is 280 Mega bit/s and the total length is 4,600km.
