This community children's library is our neighbourhood's Storyland.

It is located at the void-deck of Blk 938, Tampines Avenue 5, to bring the world of books and stories to our doorsteps.

It has a unique theme with a castle design at the main entrance to evoke the land of fairy tales.

The library specially serves only children aged 10 years and below. The mission of this library is to help cultivate the reading habit among the very young.

Tampines West MP Yatiman Yusof, who opened the library in Oct 22, 1995, said he hoped this would give our children a good headstart in life.

Twice a week, there will be story-telling sessions. Ms Cassandra Yeo, administrator of PCF Tampines West Education Centre, is the story-teller.

The library, which cost about $90,000 to built, have a good collection of story and information books for children as well as a collection of videos for children to view in the library.

It also has a multi-media PC and CD-ROM titles for even very young children to explore and experiment with.

"I would like to encourage parents who live nearby to enrol their children as members and make good use of the facilities and resources available. Take advantage of this new location which is at your doorstep," said Mr Yatiman.

The library now has more than 1,000 members.
