New presise pipe belling technology will boost polyethylene pipe market

The Austrian H.M.S. Anlogen- und Maschinenbau GmbH. spesialized in R&D and engineering of automatic belling machines for plastic pipes has developed a new precise and fast belling technology for shrinkproof inline-socketing of PE- or multilayer pipes, which makes connecting of PE-pipes easy ond cheap.

Because of their superior limberness, resistance to aggressive fluids, gas, waste water and their ecological advantages PEIpolyethylene)-pipes cover a rapidly increasing port of the world-wide pipe-market. Especially on complex or moist ground compositions, in vigorous climates or seismic areas PE-pipes represent the best alternative. However junction of PE-pipes has been a crucial factor until now. Because of PE's complex shrinking behavior aher hot forming, conventional connecting technologies for PE-pipes such as welding, electric fusion sockets, injec- tion - on sockets etc. are costly and time-consuming.

Within three years of R&D, H.M.S. Anlagen- und Maschinenbau GmbH, headed by the inventor, Mr. Schnallinger, has developed and patented an efficient solution.

On eliminating memory-effects through a new stable procedure in connection with automatic tools-setting control in process by new laser-type measuring instrument, high-precise belling of PE- or multilayer pipes has been realized. These socket-ends are resistant to shrinkage and crease-free up to 70 degrees C.

By integrating these new developments into automatic belling machines of high-performance H.M.S. has put low-cost but high-quality PE- or multilayer pipe belling into practice.

Hence, connecting of PE-pipes will be as easy and fast as of socketed PVC-pipes, if the new PE-pipe belling technology is applied to.

As demand for this new automatic belling machines is soaring, efficient industrial partners would be welcome to launch series-production and world-wide marketing.
