the road to güt on-line
About güt on-line
If you can read Japanese, please visit güt on-line page to obtain information from
the original sources.
"güt on-line" is a radio show within a radio program called
"Pazz & Jops" at a station named J-WAVE (FM 81.3MHz) in Tokyo,
Japan. The show is hosted by Ryuichi Sakamoto (or SKMT), a musician (ex YMO)
and the founder of the musical label gü:t. He broadcasts a fragment of sound
(e.g. a rhythm pattern) in each show, using which the listeners
compose their own musical pieces and submit them to the show. The best
three or so will be on the air the next month, and the best ten or so
will be posted at güt on-line opuscule page.
Bossa Nova Girls,
Musée Psyché's official band, invites the visitors of
this site to the road to güt on-line, where the fragment
of sound is altered and mixed with your submissions, so that you
can also be a part of this challenge.
So far, Bossa Nova Girls' being here
(the theme music from MoMO, October 1996 Special Exhibition) has been
selected as one of the top three among the contestants of the fifth
"güt on-line" challenge, and was broadcast on the show on
27/Sep/96. But our pursuit for great music continues.
güt on-line is broadcast on every last Friday of a month in
Pazz & Jops, which starts at 23:00 Japanese Standard Time.
being here (la version bossa ambiante)
We made this opus out of SKMT's subject and a series of sampled sounds
of London underground which Angela recorded. This opus is mostly done
by Angela, with a help from Valeria on the groove, and suggestions
from Monica and Marina. Words are written by Kenji.
