The Fair Lawn Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is a dedicated group of local men and women from the public and private sector who, in accordance with federal law oversee the Emergency Plans of local government and high risk facilities in the Borough of Fair Lawn. Regular attendees at monthly LEPC meetings include representatives from: Emergency Management, Health Department, Public Works, Fire Prevention, Fire Department, Fisher Scientific, Nabisco, Lonza and the Fair Lawn administration.
The LEPC is presently working on a 1997 schedule which will include tours for our volunteer and paid emergency responders in each of Fair Lawns seven (7) SARA facilities. The LEPC hopes that providing a schedule early in the year more of our emergency responders will be able to attend this valuable training. Corporate members of the LEPC will be soliciting donations from local industry to fund public service announcements in the local papers on issues on public health and safety.
The LEPC meets every third Wednesday in the basement conference room of the municipal building at 10am. LEPC President Donald Scales of Fisher Scientific invites the general public to attend. For additional information on this and other relater emergency management issues please contact 794-5390
