Initializing Portable Player Memory Modules

Portable players have built-in flash memory modules. In addition, some models allow you to add removable flash memory modules for expanded storage. When initializing a memory module, all music stored in the module is deleted, leaving the entire memory available for new music.

To initialize a portable player memory module

1. Verify that the player is properly connected to the computer, as described in the player's documentation.

2. Select the Portable Player tab in the Media Manager to display the folder(s) or list of songs on the device.

3. Select the memory module to be initialized.

4. Click on the Initialize button . The Format Confirmation message box is displayed asking if you are sure you want to format internal flash memory.

5. Click Yes. SIREN deletes all songs from the memory module.
