Irish Soda Bread

Things to prepare:


4 cups flour
2 tablespoons caraway seeds
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups raisins
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar

Instructions:

1) In a bowl, sift flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and caraway seeds.
2) Cut butter into mixture and add the raisins. In a little bowl beat egg, buttermilk and baking soda
3) Add buttermilk mixture to flour and mix with your hands.
4) Turn onto floured board and knead into ball
5) Place into oiled and floured cast iron fry pan
6) Bake at 350 for 70 minutes
