Clifford Setyono Biography

Clifford Setyono is a computer industry executive. He lived and studied in the U.S. for eight years and began his career in the I.T. industry by setting up his own computer company in Hong Kong. In 1982 he introduced American micro-computer technology to Asia and started exporting it to Southeast Asia. In 1989 he introduced to Eastern Europe, PC-based multi-user turnkey systems, Eastern European languages PC systems and numerous PC based applications for the retail and the health care industry.

In 1993 he began to supply network systems to government hospitals in Hong Kong and started to focus on new technology applications such as video conferencing, CBT, PC based telephony system, and Intranet for the health care industry.

In 1996 he joined Dolphin (Tech-Xec) Ltd., a retained executive search firm focusing in IT and Telecommunication. At Dolphin he handled multinational clients such as Deloitte ICS, Lucent, Peoplesoft, Cap Gemini, JBA, and developed a large network of valuable contacts around the world.

Having been exposed to the Internet for the last 20 years, he's a veteran on the Internet and has been using internet technology for the past decade to help companies improve productivies in their operations. Starting with his contact mailing list, Mr. Setyono set up a members only email information delivery service with integrated portal offering selective information, goods and services, to members in the mailing list and thereby combining content, community and e-commerce into one virtual world.

This virtual one world was introduced to members worldwide on June 30, 1999.

Mr. Setyono is a Microsoft Certified Professional. He holds an MBA in Management Science from the University of Chicago, a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Rackham School of Graduate Studies at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Setyono has lived in Hong Kong since 1982. He speaks several languages and enjoys music, reading and deploying internet technology.
