It seems you can't go to far these days without seeing people talking on cell phones - in fact, it is approaching a global epidemic. Whether for health reasons or simply for convenience, business cellular phone users are increasingly turning to hands-free headsets to make communications easier.
Go2Mac labs have tested everything from the Motorola earbud style headphone with the hanging microphone (don't bother) to the Plantronics models with full boom-style headsets (excellent sound). Both have their pros and cons, but a new entry has grabbed our attention.
The JABRA EarSet for Cellular, PCS & Mobile Phones (US$40) combines a headphone and microphone in an all-in-one design that tucks in your ear. The invisible unidirectional microphone picks up your voice from vibrations in your ear canal and is surprisingly clear.
The kit comes with 6 EarGels that look more like gummy bears than consumer electronics, three for your right and left ears in small medium and large. Although they take some practice to get in and out quickly (especially with the pressure of a ringing cell phone) the soft rubber EarGels are very comfortable and easy to use.
