Freelance Graphic, Web & Print Design

Founded by Nicolas Solberg over 15 years ago, FreeFrog Designs specializes in freelance Graphic, Print and Web Design. While I love everything related to design, I also dabble in more casual activities, such as game creation, music, motorcycling, kayaking and a plethora of other hobbies. So go forth and explore my pond little tadpoles!

Something’s Amiss...
No, you haven't lost your mind, I've reworked my website completely! This isn't just a new coat of paint, but a whole new look and content revision. The site will evolve rapidly the next few weeks, and I'm trying some new technologies such as google webfonts and deprecating CSS3, so some weird bugs might appear until I squash 'em. Follow my Tumblr blog to stay abreast of any changes.

iconWho is FreeFrog?
Once upon a time, there was a very young frog. He loved to paint and tell stories, draw animals (especially bugs), submarines, monsters and spaceships; he was told he was very good at them. But like all young frogs he got distracted with youthful pastimes. It wasn’t until he became a teenager that he rediscovered drawing and storytelling inspired by popular role-playing games (thank you D&D and Traveller).

iconAfter a few misadventures trying to find his way in the world, he found himself in the big pond known as college. He hopped from subject to subject – cinematography, art and even biology – before discovering that it wasn’t classic art he was good at creating (though he loved it), but graphic design and laying things out in creative ways. Cleverly, he studied both techical writing and graphic design under one major and graduated a frog ready to hit the pond with newfound purpose.

Things didn’t happen overnight, but after a few bad hops, he started a little business called FreeFrog Designs and became known as FreeFrog. His business was able to jump onto the Internet just as it was taking off (lucky him), so along with designing things for paper, he could also create nifty interactive designs for the web. icon

Kaboom...his business took off as the web took off! He found himself creating print and web designs for corporations, musicians, game companies, toy manufacturers and all sorts of other wildlife.

Now an older wiser frog, he can safely say that “once upon a time“ continues to this very day. Indeed, his interests and skills have broadened to include photography, music , creative writing, speeding along on two wheels, or even paddling on the water (naturally), but drawing and design are still FreeFrog's favorite endeavors.
