드디어 인텔맥이 나왔군요. 아무래도 스티브 잡스의 정체는 지름신이 분명합니다.
아래는 KMUG에서 퍼온 MacBook Pro와 iMac의 스펙입니다.
애플은 2006년 Macworld EXPO, San Francisco에서 첫번째 Intel 프로세서를 장착한 포터블 MacBook Pro를 발표했습니다. 기존에 사용하던 PowerBook이라는 이름 대신 MacBook이라는 새로운 명칭을 사용하고 PowerPC G4프로세서를 탑재한 PowerBook G4에 비해 4배의 성능 차이가 있다고 발표했습니다. 특징적인 것은 FireWire 800 포트가 사라지고 ExpressCard 슬롯이라는 것이 생겼고 전원 어답터의 MagSafe 연결이라는 방식이 도입되었습니다.

그럼 단순한 생각으로 여기다 윈도우즈를 설치해서 운용 할 수 있는지 궁금하네요.

개발자에게 공급되었던 DTK에서는 듀얼부팅이 가능했지만, 새로 출시된 인텔맥에서도 듀얼부팅이 가능한지 여부는 아직 확인되지 않았습니다. 왜냐하면 이번에 출시된 인텔맥은 BIOS 대신에 EFI(Extensible Firmware Interface)를 사용하여 부팅하기 때문입니다. EFI를 지원하는 WinDogs 버젼은 2003 Server, XP 64bit, Vista Beta 등이 있다고 알고 있는데, 일반적으로 사용하기에는 너무 무겁지 않은가 생각됩니다. 하지만 EFI는 legacy BIOS를 옵션이 있기 때문에 문제없을 것이라는 의견도 있으나, 애플이 막아놓았는지 아닌지 여부는 아직 알려져 있지 않습니다...

그렇기 때문에 앞으로 OSx86 관련 포럼에서는 두가지 측면으로 패치가 진행되지 않을까 생각됩니다. 첫번째는 기존과 마찬가지로 일반 PC에서 Mac OS X 10.4.4 설치가 가능하도록 하는 패치가 지속적으로 릴리스 되리라 생각합니다. 두번째는 새로 출시된 인텔맥에 윈도그를 설치해서 듀얼부팅이 가능하도록 하는 패치가 나오지 않을까 전망해 봅니다...
