Ubisoft announces new Mac titles
Ubisoft has announced that it has expanded its portfolio of Mac titles for digital download and will introduce Mac versions of its games to retail through its partnership with TransGaming , a developer of portability technologies for the electronic entertainment industry. Ubisoft will release Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding to the Mac community in March 2009 via Ubisoft's online digital store, GameTree Online and at traditional retail locations. Mac versions of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Petz Sports will also be released at select retail establishments for the first time in March 2009. Absoft releases Fx3 stand-alone debugger for Mac OS X

Developed by Coolgorilla, the phrasebook is available in six different language versions: French, German, Greek, Italian Portuguese and Spanish, and can be downloaded by visiting Apple's App Store. Using the talking phrasebook consumers can ask for directions, hire a car and even engage in small talk. Each one contains over 500 sound files covering a variety of elements of the holiday experience including eating, travel, even flirting. The app allows consumers to search for a phrase in English and press "select." Their iPhone then pronounces the phrase in the foreign language with a real, native accent. The text translation is also provided on the screen.

Alteratec announces new hard disk drive duplicator

VMWare announces open source virtual desktop client
VMware, which makes virtualization solutions, has announced what it says is the first open source client for virtual desktop infrastructure, VMware View Open Client. VMware View enables IT organizations to host user desktops in the datacenter, while letting users access their personalized desktop environments from almost any device, at any time, says Jocelyn Goldfein, vice president and general manager of VMware's Desktop Business Unit.
