Transit

A transit is when a smaller body passes in front of a larger one. One example is when Mercury passes between the Sun and the Earth. During the transit Mercury can be seen crossing the disk of the Sun. Another example is the travel of a moon in front of its parent planet, for example Ganymede in front of Jupiter.
