Game Play
You
and your significant other were enjoying
a safari trip when suddenly, a mad monkey kidnapped your loved one! Apparently
to use them as the main dish during the celebration of his 50th wedding anniversary.
He has imprisoned your loved one while he waits for his wife to return from the
supermarket with the wine.
The bad news doesn't stop there: this silly animal thinks he's the king of the
jungle, and to make matters worse, the rest of the animals think that too. Even
to some plants! So the entire jungle will give you a hard time as you try to
rescue your loved one. And you thought this vacation would help you relieve
stress?
Thank
Goodness this monkey is a messy animal, and has lost the cage keys all over
the place. Go and collect them before he realizes his mistake!
Explore
real 3D environments with amazing cartoon style graphics, jungle sounds and music.
5 Different
maps.
Collect
the medic kits to recover your health.
You can
play as either a man or a woman and rescue your girlfriend/boyfriend.
Move your
body gracefully to avoid avalanches of rolling tree trunks.
Plenty
of different types of enemies!

Video
Setup
This section contains important
information on configuring your video card. If you have a 3D accelerator card
with OpenGL drivers, you can run this game in hardware mode and experience incredibly
smooth game-play in high resolution.
Display Setup Program
Before running the game for the
first time, you should select a video mode from the video setup screen. If you
need to run this setup after installing the game, click on the Display Setup Monitor
button at the bottom of the eGames browser.
The
video setup program gives you 4 video mode options:
·
3dfx Voodoo2
·
3dfx Banshee
·
Other 3D card
·
Software Mode
If you're not sure which 3D card you have,
you can always select Software Mode to be safe and re-run the Display Setup program
once you have determined what video card you have. Software Mode should work on
all video cards. However, note that Software Mode is the slowest choice! This
game performs best in 3D hardware accelerated mode.
3dfx
Voodoo2
Choose this option if you have a Voodoo2 based board. This video card requires
a custom version of opengl32.dll present in the game's directory to experience
3D hardware acceleration. Press this button to do this automatically.
3dfx Voodoo Banshee
Choose this option if you have a 3dfx Banshee board. This video card requires
a custom version of opengl32.dll present in the game's directory to experience
3D hardware acceleration. Press this button to do this automatically.
Other
3D Card
Most users with 3D cards with OpenGL ICD drivers
should select this option to experience 3D hardware acceleration. No special
DLL needs to be copied to the game directory for these boards. These boards
include the ATI Rage 128, 3dfx Voodoo3, and NVidia TNT2 cards.
Software Mode
All users who do not have 3D accelerated video cards, or who have 3D accelerated
video cards which lack an OpenGL driver, should select Software Mode. Remember,
software rendering is very slow compared to hardware mode.
*Note—eGames cannot help with 3D accelerated card problems, or Open GL problems.
Please contact your video card manufacturer for assistance.
Finding Your Video Card—the
following steps will show you how to determine the type of video card
installed on your PC.
1) Right click on the “My Computer” icon
2) Left click on “properties”
3) Click on the “Device Manager” tab
4) Make sure “view devices by type” is selected
5) Double click on “Display Adapters”
6) This will display the video card
OpenGL
This
program requires the presence of an OpenGL driver on your system. Windows should
ship with the required OPENGL32.DLL file in your Window's SYSTEM directory. If
you are having trouble getting your video card to work with this game, or you
can not locate the OpenGL drivers for your particular video card, you should try
GL Setup, a free OpenGL driver installation program available on the internet.
More information on GL Setup can be found at www.glsetup.com.
More
information about the OpenGL standard can be found at www.opengl.org.
Please
be aware that eGames, Inc. cannot answer questions about video boards or other
3D cards. If you have questions about your video card or drivers for your video
card, please see the documentation that came with your computer or contact the
card's manufacturer. We cannot answer questions concerning these products because
they are not licensed products of eGames, Inc.

Troubleshooting
Mouse Problems
Problem:
The mouse
cursor disappears!
Solution: This is normal, nothing is wrong.
Hit the ALT key or the F10 function key to get the mouse cursor back and go into
Windows™ mode. Because you can play the game with the mouse, if the mouse cursor
didn't disappear, you'd move it to another window and activate another program
in the middle of gameplay. Therefore, the mouse cursor must disappear to play
the game with the mouse.
Performance Problems
Problem:
The program
runs too slow. The graphics are too 'choppy'!
Solution: Try running
the game in low-res fullscreen mode (from the Main Menu choose 'Options' and then
choose Low-Res). If you wish to run the game in a window (remember, a window display
is only available in Software Mode!), make the window smaller and choose "High
Colors mode" (from the 'Display' pull-down menu). From the program's 'Game
Setup' menu, also be sure to turn off fog, perspective sky, or any other special
effects.
Problem:
I can't
switch to low-res mode. I can't switch to windowed mode.
Solution: If you
are running the game using 3D hardware acceleration, then you can only run in
high-resolution fullscreen mode.
Problem: The
game crashes when I try to take a screen shot with the F9 key!
Solution: Some
versions of the 3dfx Open GL drivers have a bug which causes the program to
crash when taking a screen shot with the F9 key. Look for new Voodoo3 drivers
from 3dfx in the future that will fix this problem.
Graphics Problems
Problem:
Screen
colors look ugly, fonts hard to read, screen object arrangement is weird.
Solution: This
game requires a video mode with at least High Color mode (16 bit).
Problem: How do I change my video mode
to High Color?
Solution:
Right-click on the desktop and select the 'Properties' option. Then, select the
'Settings' tab at the top of the 'Display Properties' dialog. Under 'Color palette',
choose 'High Color' and hit the 'Ok' button. There is also another way to get
to the 'Display Properties' dialog… you can also go to the 'Control Panel' and
double-click on the 'Display' icon.
Installation Problems
Problem:
Every time
you try and run the game, it tries to install it again.
Solution: You are
running the installation program on the CD-ROM. You only have to run the installation
once. After the game is installed on your system, look for it on your local hard
drive or from the 'Start' menu on the Windows™ desktop.
Problem: I
can't find the installation program. Where do I start?
Solution: Try looking for your CD drive icon. If you find your CD drive,
just double-click on it and look for the game installation program. Refer to your
system's documentation for the location of your CD-ROM drive. You must look in
your documentation for this information, because each computer system is unique.
Problem: When I try to run the game, I
get the error "CAN'T FIND DINPUT.DLL".
Solution: You need to install DirectX™
5.0 (or higher) on your computer. DirectX™ is a set of libraries provided by Microsoft™
and it's now part of Windows™. Older versions of Windows™ may be missing DirectX™.
The DirectX™ installation program should be provided on the game CD. If you can't
find it there, you can also find a link to an installable version of DirectX™
at www.microsoft.com/directx.
Sound Problems
Problem: Sound effects
won't play at all.
Solution: Run the Media Player application
that comes with Windows and use it to play any wave file (try "c:\windows\tada.wav").
If the Media Player fails to play a .WAV file then there is a general problem
with your configuration to be solved. You will want to refer to Windows and sound
card documentation to determine how to configure your system.
General Problems
Problem:
The game
responds too slowly.
Solution: Try using a lower resolution (choose
Low-Res from the 'Options' menu). Only the fastest computers can run 3D games
in high resolutions. Also be sure to use "High Color" mode to help speed
up the game's response (see “Graphics Problems” above). From the program's 'Game
Setup' menu, also be sure to turn off fog, perspective sky, or any other special
effects.
Problem: The
game locks up, crashes, or causes system errors.
Solution: Make sure DirectX™ 5.0 (or higher) is installed on your machine.
Turn off the music and sound effects. If the game doesn't lock up without music
and sound effects, it is possible that sound is not configured properly on your
system. If the game locks up with music and sound effects off, try running the
game without any other programs running. Restart your computer after any errors.
Problem: I
can't figure out how to get past this level!
Solution: Please don't call us! The whole point of playing a game is figuring
it out yourself!! If you have Internet access, some good Usenet newsgroups to
post questions to are rec.games.arcade and rec.games.misc. Look for a hints and
tips page for this game on the Webfoot homepage at http://www.webfootgames.com.
Problem: The F4 key doesn't work so I can't
switch to windowed mode.
Solution: If you are running the game using 3D hardware acceleration, then
you can only run in high-resolution fullscreen mode.
