Opening Files
In addition to HTML pages, Microsoft Internet Explorer can open
the following file types:
- Text documents
- GIF and JPEG images
You can open other file types by configuring file types.
To open a file, do one of the following
- To open a file on your computer, choose Open from the File menu, and then choose Open File. Select the file you want to open, and then choose OK.
- To open a file on the Internet, choose Open from the File
menu, type the address, and then choose
OK.
Or type the address directly in the Address box in the Microsoft Internet
Explorer window.
- To open a file from your Favorites list, choose Open Favorites
from the Favorites menu.
- To open a recently visited page, click the down arrow at the right of the Address box, or choose More History
from the File menu.
