If you have to reinstall your mouse once the installation is complete, use the "mouseconfig" utility program in text mode. To do this, type "linuxconfig" in a shell (terminal emulator/ kvt).
If your mouse has only two buttons, enable "emulate the third button". In fact, under X, the third button (the one in the middle) enables you to "copy/paste" between the applications (having already selected with the left button).
