How to Perform a
FILTER SEARCH

The FLOWERS module has a very powerful FILTER search function that can help you find just the right flower for your specific needs. For example, you could use this function to find any flower that is an annual, blooms in red, is under 20 inches, and can be used in floral arrangements. Here's how:

How to Perform a FILTER SEARCH
Step 1 Open the FLOWER MASTER program. (You will find the program at the location you specified earlier during the install process. The default location for Windows platforms is on the desktop or in the START>APPLICATIONS menu. The default for MAC OSX platforms is the desktop or startup disk.)
Step 2

Open the FLOWERS module by clicking on its icon in the Main menu panel to the left:

Step 3

To perform a filter search, click on the FILTER button:

Step 4

From the resulting SEARCH FILTER window, enter specific characteristics of flowers for which you are searching, and then click on the SEARCH button (circled below in green). In this example, we searching for an annual flower, that blooms in red, is less than 20 inches tall and can be used in floral arrangements:

Step 5

A list of flowers matching your filter criteria then appears. Highlight a specific flower from the list and click on the VIEW button at the bottom. (Be sure to use the vertical scroll bar to the right to see the complete list.)

Step 6

Information for the selected flower then appears. In the example below, the area highlighted in red contains the photographs. (Use the left and right ARROW buttons underneath the photograph to view any other pictures which may be available for the flower.) The area highlighted below in green gives name information. (Press and hold the mouse on either the genus or species name to view popup windows with pronunciation and other information.) The area below highlighted in blue has more detailed information for the flower. (Be sure to use the vertical scroll bar at the right to view all information in this area.)
